A Woman's Choice
A woman's choice is not an easy one to make,
for there are many voices that try to dictate.
Society, parents, friends, and lovers too, all want to tell her what she should do.
They all claim, "Do this, don't do that,"
trying to mold her into their own ideal frame.
But these voices only bring her down,
draining her joy, like a king without a crown.
As a woman, she has learned to pretend,
masking her true feelings until the very end.
Sacrificing for the opposite gender,
forgetting her own needs in surrender.
For if she makes a choice that's truly hers,
her strength will be questioned, her worth in a blur.
They'll say she's too hard, too prideful, with no empathy,
a woman who can't humble herself.
But if she listens and follows their lead,
her true self, she'll never have the chance to see.
A life filled with regret and deep sorrow
for a choice that wasn't truly hers all along.
Sometimes her choices may not seem right,
but if they bring her joy, let's not fight.
For a woman's happiness should be her guide,
in a world where others try to decide.
But is she strong enough to stand her ground,
or will she be lost and forever bound to please,
to conform, to go with the flow?
Unhappy, but not wanting to show.
I am a woman and I want my choice to be mine,
free from external or internal influence.
Let my decision bring me happiness, let it shine,
and may it please the almighty, without any pretence.
So let us make our choices with confidence and grace,
for they are ours and ours alone.
And may they lead us to a better place
where our happiness is fully grown.
The power to choose is man’s greatest gift from his creator. Utilize positive!
